Cal.com review: pricing, features and who it suits

Our verdict The open-source alternative to Calendly, with a generous free plan, an API and the option to self-host. It takes more setup and has fewer service-business features.

Our take

Cal.com does what Calendly does for meetings, and adds two things Calendly doesn't: it's open source, and you can host it yourself. That matters to developers who want to build booking into their own product and to organizations that want control over where booking data lives.

The hosted free plan gives one user unlimited event types, which is more than Calendly's free plan. Teams and Organizations are priced per user. Cal.com also offers Cal.ai, a phone agent, and has a large app store with Google, Outlook, Zoom, Stripe, HubSpot and Salesforce integrations.

Self-hosting means more work, and Cal.com's support team is smaller than the market leaders'. It's also lighter on salon and clinic features than SimplyBook.me or Acuity.
